New to paddleboarding? New to yoga? No problem!

Our SUP Yoga sessions are designed for everyone, whether you are stepping onto a board for the first time or already confident in your practice. These classes are your chance to explore something different, challenge yourself in a safe way, or simply soak up a serene experience. Imagine floating on still water as the sun dips over the river, surrounded by the sights, sounds and scents of nature.

SUP Yoga is more than yoga on a board. It is movement, mindfulness and a splash of adventure all in one. The gentle challenge of the water sharpens focus and brings you into the present moment. When you are truly present, surprising things happen. You discover new balance, new strength, and a lighter way of being.

Whether you want to stretch, strengthen, laugh or simply unwind, SUP Yoga gives you space to:

Every session is designed so you can go at your own pace, try something new, or lie back and let the river carry your stress away.

Meet Your Guide

Alex is a qualified yoga teacher, SUP instructor and one of only a handful of ASI certified SUP Yoga instructors in the UK. With her warm and encouraging style, she creates a safe and supportive space for everyone, whether you are new to yoga, SUP or both. She is also an STA Level 2 Open Water Swim Coach, so you could not be in better hands.

What to Expect

  • Welcome and Orientation: Meet at Arden Sailing Club, settle in, change, and chat through any questions.

  • Safety First: A short land-based briefing to cover paddleboarding basics and water safety.

  • A Gentle Paddle: Drift downstream at your own pace, kneeling or standing. No experience required.

  • Anchored in Flow: Secure your board before Alex guides you through a 45 minute yoga sequence, with clear demos and plenty of options. End with a floating shavasana, lying back as the water rocks you and the river birds sing.

  • Optional Fun: Try anything you missed, take photos, or go for a gentle swim with Alex nearby.

  • Wind Down: Back at the clubhouse you can shower or change, then head home with a voucher for your next SUP adventure.

All our sessions will be socially distanced, hygienic and will adhere to government guidelines as these evolve over time as well as meeting our own internal COVID19 risk assessment standards. We are ASI COVID19 Secure Audited.
2On-site facilities
Wittering SUP & Yoga HQ is based at Arden Sailing Club where we have toilets, changing rooms, light refreshments, picnic tables and secure parking onsite.
3What should you wear?
You will need to dress for the weather in light quick drying gym wear or your swimming costume (speedos are fine gents) On cooler days a wetsuit is optional (we do not provide them) but they can be restrictive. Personally I prefer layers of light tight fitting gym wear that will dry quickly. There is of course a possibility of falling in, so bring a towel and a change of clothes, something warm to put on afterwards just in case. A bottle of water, suncream and perhaps a hat for a hot day. If the weather is looking a little wet bring a light rain coat (pac-a-mac). SUP yoga in the rain is MAGICAL but maybe not if you are feeling chilly!

New skills outside of our comfort zone can always seem a little daunting, but we are always SO much more capable than we think we are. We are passionate about making sure everybody feels safe, confident and happy with their experience; our approach is gentle, supportive and compassionate and you have nothing to worry about; we’ll look after you :)
