Wittering SUP runs private paddleboarding sessions for hen parties, birthdays, and group celebrations on the River Avon at Defford. We have been doing this for years and we are very good at it. The format is flexible, the river is beautiful, and the combination of physical challenge, fresh air, and a lot of laughing tends to make for an afternoon people actually talk about.
We take the hen party work seriously because the stakes are high. This is someone's celebration and we treat it that way. James and Alex have run sessions for everything from a group of four celebrating a birthday to a group of twenty for a full hen weekend. The session is tailored to the group before you arrive.
No paddleboarding experience is needed. All equipment is provided and everything is covered before anyone gets near the water. We use the water for fun, games, and getting in if anyone fancies it. We use the boards for everything from SUP yoga poses to relay races to the kind of wobbly balancing acts that make the best photographs.

Everything is sorted
before you arrive.
Private hire means the session is yours. No other groups, no shared water time, no compromises on the format. We organise everything in advance so all you need to do is turn up.
Group sizes from four to over twenty. We can accommodate larger groups across multiple boards and instructors. If you have specific requirements, tell us when you enquire and we will make it work.
Boards, paddles, wetsuits if wanted, safety kit. All included and sorted on arrival.
Everything on the bank first. Nobody gets on the water until everyone is ready.
Relay races, balancing challenges, water pistols, SUP yoga. We bring the props and run the session.
We photograph every session and put together a video that gets shared with the group afterwards.
Toilets, changing rooms, hot showers, and parking on site.

Every hen party session is different and we quote based on group size, session length, and what the group wants to do. The enquiry form is the easiest way to start. We respond within 24 hours and we are always happy to talk it through on the phone first if that is easier.
Key things to tell us: the date you are thinking of, how many people are in the group, whether anyone has specific requirements, and what kind of session you are after. The rest we can discuss.
We also take bookings for birthdays, work socials, and other group celebrations. If it does not fit neatly into the hen party box, enquire anyway and we will work something out.
